Pete Banks, R.I.P.
[[bands/banks-peter|Peter Banks]], one of the first "progressive" guitarists, passed away in his London home on March 7th, at age 65.
He is best known for his role as the founding guitarist for Yes, and later with his band Flash, who recorded three albums following his departure from Yes in 1970. Banks also released a solo album in 1973, featuring many prog luminaries, as well as several solo albums in the 1990s. Banks began his carrer in the early 60s, journeying through the psychedelic era in the Syn with fellow Yes-man Chris Squire, and then with Mabel Greer's Toyshop, the precursor of Yes.
