Here's a gem I've not seen before. Phil Collins drumming and singing with Flaming Youth, his pre-Genesis psychedelic rock group, with keyboardist Brian Chatton and guitarist Ronnie Caryl. Thank you WDR for these amazing historical documents!

Ken Hensley, RIP

More sad news from former Uriah Heep members. Ken Hensley passed away yesterday at age 75. Key songwriter for Uriah Heep's first decade, Ken's route were in Bournemouth, and he was a member of The Gods, whose ranks included Mick Taylor, Greg Lake and John Glascock, and of course, the late Lee Kerslake, who eventually joined Ken in Uriah Heep. My condolences to Ken's family and close friends. He had the magic gift of music! Long may his memory serve...

Gordon Haskell, RIP

Gordon Haskell, perhaps best known in Prog circles as the vocalist on King Crimson's Lizard album, passed away on October 18th. His second solo album, 1971's It Is and It Isn't, opened a career that would offer him little reward until his substantial hit "How Wonderful You Are" in 2001. RIP, my condolences to his friends and family.

Epitaph to release Rare Bird cover

Legendary German band EPITAPH is releasing a new single and video on 23 July. Their cover version of ‘Rare Bird’s ‘Sympathy’ is taken from the band’s recently released triple CD box set "Five Decades of Classic Rock". Both the single and the album clearly illustrate why Epitaph has earned a reputation as one of the country’s foremost Prog rock acts.

Founded in 1969, Epitaph made music history in the 70s becoming the first German band to tour the USA several times.

RIP Phil May

Pretty Things' singer Phil May has died at age 75 from complications in surgery following a bike accident. Make no mistake: When you talk about The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Who and The Yardbirds, The Pretty Things need to be in that column. From early beat to freak beat to psychedelic to art rock, the Pretties were one of Britian's originals, and one of finest rock bands ever. I raise my glass to Phil, rest in peace and my sincere condolences to your loved ones. Long live the king!
