Nothing defines the good and back of Prog Rock other than Yes. From their striking early albums and genre-defining middle era, through to the chart-topping 80s best sellers, the band has -- in one form or another -- continued for five decades.

Yes at the Arcada Theatre, June 5th 2018

I had the pleasure of seeing Yes this past Tuesday, for the opening night of their 50th Anniversary tour at the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, IL. Led by the invincible Steve Howe, the band, with Geoff Downes on keyboards, Billy Sherwood on bass, Jon Davison on vocals and Jay Schellen on drums, tore through an amazing set. Alan White took to the stage later in the evening, providing drums for a particularly rockin' "Yours Is No Disgrace," while original member Tony Kaye joined the band for their three encores.

Yes inducted to Hall Of Fame

Today, it was announced that the "Union Tour" lineup of Yes will be inducted this year to the Rock-N-Roll Hall Of Fame. Jon Anderson, Bill Bruford, Steve Howe, Tony Kaye, Trevor Rabin, Chris Squire, Rick Wakeman and Alan White will get the honors, Squire of course, posthumously. No mention of Peter Banks, their original guitarist who also gave the band their name, as well as the Buggle duo of Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes, and keyboardist Patrick Moraz.

Yes' Fly From Here - Return Trip

Just in my inbox, the Pledge Music site has launched offering the vocal re-recording and remix of Yes' 2011 Fly From Here album, by the "Drama Lineup". Seems it's not really exclusive to the Fan Convention after all. I for one am eagerly awaiting this new release, the title track written by the former Buggles Trevor Horn and Geoff Downes.

Tracklisting:
Fly From Here – Overture
Fly From Here Pt 1 – We Can Fly
Fly From Here Pt 2 – Sad Night At The Airfield
Fly From Here Pt 3 – Madman At The Screens
Fly From Here Pt 4 – Bumpy Ride

YES: PROGENY – Live from Seventy-Two

Yes are about to release a box set of seven live shows from their Fall 1972 US Tour, with a not so newly anointed Alan White on drums. The tapes are purportedly the source tapes for some of the 1973 Yessongs triple album and having been restored completely in the analog realm. The dates of the taps are as follows, with the same set list each night. A 2CD or 2LP sampler will also be released, and that's what I'll be in for.

Recording Dates:
31 Oct 1972: Maple Leaf Gardens, Toronto, Ontario, Canada
