Totally missed this review! Thank you Pete Pardo and Sea of Tranquility!

Bernd "Nossi" Noske, R.I.P.

"Dear fans and friends of Birth Control,
Unfortunately I have to post a very, very sad message. On Tuesday, 02.18.2014, our drummer and singer Bernd "Nossi" Noske passed away! The funeral took place in silence in the circle of family.
Who would like to support Nossi's widow with a donation can be sure that these will be thankfully accepted! Kornelia Sommerfeld-Noske, Zum Bäumchen 9, D-53809 Ruppichteroth, Germany
After the burial the band will decide how it goes - or whether it ends here and now. However - we will preserve Nossi's memory in honor - he lives on in our hearts.

Francesco Di Giacomo, R.I.P.

Re-posted from Greg Walker, of Synphonic:

"It is with great sadness to announce that Francesco Di Giacomo (the beloved tenor singer of Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso) passed away today from the result of a car accident. Details are sketchy about what caused the accident but it may be health related. Here is the posting on the internet and the English translation":

PFM to play Chicago 4/6

"Premiata Forneria Marconi (PFM) (translation: Award-winning Marconi Bakery) is an Italian progressive rock band. They were the first Italian group to have success abroad, entering both the British and American charts. Between 1973 and 1977 they released five albums with English lyrics. They also had several successful European and American tours, playing at the popular Reading Festival in England and on a very popular national television program in the U.S.A.

Odessey And Oracle > Zombies, The

Artist: Zombies
Label: CBS

Strawberry Bricks Entry:
Formed in 1962 in St. Albans, Hertfordshire, The Zombies comprised the talents of keyboardist Rod Argent, vocalist Colin Blunstone, bassist Chris White, guitarist Paul Atkinson and drummer Hugh Grundy. Like most bands of the British Invasion, they combined equal parts soul and beat, yet The Zombies had that something extra: incredible musicality. Released in July 1964, "She's Not There" b/w "You Make Me Feel So Good" was their first and only chart hit in the UK, reaching No. 12. But it eventually rose to No.

Taking their name from a late 70s incarnation of the legendary Hawkwind, The Hawklords burst into the limelight in 2009 with a memorial benefit concert to Barney Bubbles, the graphic artist responsible for much of Hawkwind’s 70s image, including the 1973 Space Ritual and 1978 Hawklords tours.
