Think Pink > Twink

Artist: Twink
Label: Sire
Catalog#: SES 97022
Format: Vinyl
Country: US
Released: 1970
Strawberry Bricks Entry:
John Charles Edward Alder, aka Twink (after a popular home perm kit), hailed from Colchester, Essex, where he had formed an R&B band called The Fairies. After moving to London in 1966, the band released three singles that went nowhere, so Twink joined The In Crowd, which later morphed into Tomorrow. After a spell with The Pretty Things, Twink and a soon to be ex-Tyrannosaurus Rex Steve Peregrine Took started an embryonic version of the Pink Fairies, the fruits of which became Twink's debut solo album, Think Pink.

Catalog#: SMRL 6113
Format: Vinyl
Country: Italy
Released: 1973
Strawberry Bricks Entry:
Museo Rosenbach were another Ligurian band, formed from the legendary Il Sistemi by guitarist Enzo Merogno and Leonard Lagorio in 1972. But Lagorio eventually dropped out (forming Celeste with another Il Sistemi alumnus, Ciro Perrino), and Merogno teamed up with Giancarlo Golzi on drums, Alberto Moreno on bass, Pit Corradi on keyboards and Stefano Galifi on vocals. The band's debut album, Zarathustra, takes its concept from Nietzsche's Also sprach Zarathustra and was released on the Dischi Ricordi label.

Celeste > Celeste

Artist: Celeste
Label: Grog
Catalog#: GRL 02
Format: Vinyl
Country: Italy
Released: 1976-01
Strawberry Bricks Entry:
Another offshoot of the Sanremo-based Il Sistema, Celeste was founded in late 1972 by Ciro Perrino and Leonardo Lagorio, who was briefly a member of Museo Rosenbach. Their motive was not to recreate Il Sistemi, but rather forge a group with a more acoustic and classical feel. Rounding out the lineup were Giorgio Battaglia on bass and Mariano Schiavolini on guitar, the latter still a student in Sanremo.

Strawberry Bricks Entry:
Harald Grosskopf first appeared early in the timeline as the drummer for Wallenstein, playing on their first four albums. He then performed with Klaus Schulze off and on in the mid-70s, before joining forces with Manuel Göttsching and Lüül Ulbrich in Ashra in 1978. Grosskopf got the opportunity from Sky Records to record his first solo album, Synthesist, in 1980. With only a Mini-Moog, sequencer and a somewhat legendary eight-track tape machine, he retreated to the Krefeld home of Udo Hanten (one half of the soon-to-be electronic group, You).
